About us

OBGYN Nassau County’s Women for Women are experts in general obstetric gynecological care, high-risk obstetrics, laparoscopy, and hysteroscopy. We provide many specialty services including bone densitometry, gynecological sonography, 4-D obstetrical ultrasound, minimally invasive surgery, cosmetic treatments, and personalized wellness consultations.

Our office is on Hollow Ln and our providers are all on staff at LIJ. Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York which contains a neonatal intensive care unit is part of LIJ and we work closely with their staff as well. The physicians operate with a team approach. Gynecological patients will have a primary care doctor within our practice, but in an emergency, it is possible that they may be attended to by one of the other physicians. OBGYN Nassau County’s obstetrical patients will rotate with all of the physicians, as we work as a team to provide the most comprehensive care.

Hospital Procedures

We perform both ambulatory and inpatient surgeries. OBGYN Nassau County offers minimally invasive procedures for the management of heavy periods and fibroids. Surgeries are performed at Northwell Health at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in the main operating room or in the state of the art Ambulatory Women’s Surgery Suite.

Your initial appointment will be a 60 minute comprehensive consultation to discuss your concerns and go through your personal and medical history. Initial testing may be ordered. You will receive an intake questionnaire to fill out and return prior to your consultation. A visit summary and management plan will be emailed to you after the consultation along with any further testing necessary.

You will have a 30 minute follow up visit 2 to 4 weeks after that. Return appointments will be scheduled as necessary

Botox And Dermal Fillers

OBGYN’s Nassau County practice is pleased to offer aesthetic injectable treatments, done by our own Nurse Practitioner, Amy Newman. Amy is certified in Botox Cosmetic, dermal filler, and sclerotherapy treatments. Botox reduces or eliminates the appearance of wrinkles in the forehead, between the brows, crows feets, and other areas. Dermal filler (Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero) is an injectable gel that restores youthful fullness to the face. It is usually injected into the nasolabial folds (“smiles lines”), cheeks, lips, but also other areas. Sclerotherapy is the injection and elimination of unsightly spider veins in the legs.

Pregnancy Care

We offer management of all pregnancies, uncomplicated to high risk. This includes pregnancies complicated by diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple gestations, and fertility interventions. We perform our deliveries at the state of the art Katz Women’s Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Northwell Health. We offer 3D/4D ultrasound in-office which can be performed between 28 and 32 weeks of pregnancy.

Lactation Consultation

Families who seek the help of an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) get the gurus of breastfeeding knowledge and support. An IBCLC is an expert on breastfeeding. By finding one as you begin breastfeeding, you equip yourself with the very best support available. Your doctors are very supportive of breastfeeding and encourage you to see our IBCLC in our office before delivery and after with baby as well. We offer 3D/4D ultrasound which can be performed between 26 and 32 weeks of your pregnancy. Bring your family and see your baby in live 3D/4D motion. Best results are between 26-32 weeks and when well hydrated.

Pregnancy Info

You should schedule your first appointment with us at approximately 7 or 8 weeks from your last menstrual period which is when we can visualize your pregnancy on ultrasound. However, please call as soon as you missed your period and/or had a positive pregnancy test to schedule your appointment. If you have a history of early pregnancy complications such as ectopic pregnancy or multiple miscarriages you should schedule an appointment sooner.
